Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning

The world needs more problem-solvers. We train them.

Just like cars and trucks, the days of simple equipment are gone. Our industry has become a highly technical trade. As manufacturers work to make everything more efficient and feature-rich, the equipment has grown more sophisticated. And with a dozen major manufacturers in our industry, there are about 100 new products introduced every year. With technology changing quickly and becoming more complicated, the people who work on these vital machines require greater training. And continual training.

Simply put, it’s not just about learning how to replace a part. It’s about learning how to solve a problem. That’s why Isaac emphasizes training in a way that’s unmatched in the business. Our technicians receive more formal education in their first two years at Isaac that most technicians will get in a lifetime. And it shows in the quality of the work we do.

A new training center 10X the size of its predecessor.

Isaac recently opened a new, 30,000 square-foot training facility in Rochester. It’s a substantial expansion of our capacity to train technicians in new and exciting ways. The Isaac Training & Education Center is so unique, Isaac accepts contractors from outside the company to provide them with training, too.

Recognized in a class by ourselves.

Isaac University is the only contractor-run training program nationally recognized by the Partnership for Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Accreditation (PAHRA). It is recognized for exceeding industry standards for curriculum, faculty, classwork and required course load. It’s also the only private contractor training program accredited by the New York State Apprenticeship Program for sheet metal workers.

Looking for a career change? Consider Isaac.

With our well-equipped new training center and award-winning program, Isaac is one of the best places to learn a trade. Our technicians often tell us they’re amazed at how much they learn in a relatively short time. It’s all in the methods we use: both in the classroom and in the lab. Find out more about our opportunities.

Isaac University is conducted at the Isaac Training & Education Center, where we teach more than just the latest heating and air conditioning models. We also teach the skilled trades, from electrical to plumbing to construction technology. Inside the facility, technicians can work on different systems in the same context they experience in the field. The facility has 150 different pieces of equipment to study and learn how to install, diagnose, and repair.

Isaac University training by the numbers.

We provide two years of HVAC education, followed by two more years of specialized training for each technician. That’s more than 340 hours followed by ongoing Isaac Unversity sessions at ITEC. Employees must pass 21 educational modules on topics that range from gas furnaces to industry codes to self-leadership.

Industry-leading NATE certification.

For validation and certification of technician knowledge, we use rigorous North American Technician Excellence (NATE) exams. We currently have over 75 NATE-certified technicians with 400+ specialties — more than any other company in the U.S.

Instructional expertise.

Isaac University instructional staff have an average of 10+ years in the field and hold both a wide array of NATE certifications as well as HVAC Excellence Subject Matter Educator credentials in their areas of responsibility.  All instructors participate in manufacturer training and frequent fieldwork to maintain up to date on the latest equipment.
