The Project

Equipment included rooftop make-up air equipment, high-plume lab exhaust fans, Phoenix laboratory controls, sheet metal and process piping.

This plant-based chemical laboratory company based in Rochester partnered with Isaac to design and build an HVAC system for its sophisticated facility, including:

  • 9,300 square feet of offices
  • 6,900 square foot research and development laboratory
  • 7,500 square foot chemical process demonstration space

The Details

The lab area is equipped with a variable flow exhaust and make-up air system. The variable-flow exhaust system lets exhaust fans reduce capacity when fume cabinet sashes are not open while ensuring occupant safety. The configuration saves the company significant energy costs in heating and cooling make-up air.

The high plume lab exhaust fans are configured in redundant pairs for exhaust system resiliency. The demonstration skid exhaust fans are equipped with variable frequency drives for fine tuning and adjustment as needed by the occupants.

The Linc

The Project

Equipment included water-sourced heat pump system with a closed loop fluid cooler on the roof, a city steam-to-hot-water heat exchanger, central pumping plant, water-sourced heat pump unitary equipment, sheet metal, mechanical piping, energy recovery equipment and controls.

The Details

The Linc (formerly the Alliance Building) is a 15-story mixed use building in downtown Rochester and was a complete gut and rehab project. The Isaac team served on preconstruction budgeting, as a design assistant, and as the HVAC sub-contractor. The entire project took 18 months to complete.

The Nathaniel Apartments
