Job Description
Full Time - Rochester, NY
Estimator – Commercial Installation
Location: Rochester
Reports to: Estimating Supervisor or Department Manager
Office Direction: Department Manager
Technical Direction: Estimating Supervisor
Purpose
This is a mid-senior level position. The purpose of this position is to use the further develop the required skills to be an efficient and effective Estimator. This individual will operate as part of a team to estimate, bid and sell HVAC construction projects.
Essential Functions
Independently estimate plumbing, mechanical and/or HVAC systems with unitary and applied equipment.
Proficiently use all estimating tools to accurately bid and estimate new construction, renovation and retrofit projects.
Maintain working knowledge of HVAC controls, commercial plumbing, commercial and mechanical piping and ductwork.
Read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
Update and maintain project bid list.
Perform equipment and material take offs and assign material and labor factors to estimate projects.
Write scope of work and project proposals.
Attending pre-bid walk throughs of bid projects.
Schedule and coordinate project hand off meetings.
Create and maintain relationships with commercial clients
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements
Physical Requirements
Adapting to temperature (possible). Ability to work in hot or cold environments either inside or outside of the business.
Standing (possible). For sustained periods of time on hard surfaces.
Walking (possible). Moving on or about on foot to accomplish tasks.
Talking (frequent). Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
Hearing (constant). Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound in order to successfully troubleshoot equipment.
Seeing (constant). Ability to see in the following manner with or without corrective lenses: ability to read/see near or far, judge distances, and identify colors.
Attendance and punctuality (regular/predictable). Regular/predictable attendance and punctuality for this position is required.
Education/Degrees/Certifications/Requirements:
3+ year of estimating experience
Valid Driver’s License and vehicle
OSHA 10-hour Certificate is a plus
High School diploma or equivalent
Coursework or experience related to HVAC, plumbing, construction management, mechanical engineering or estimating is preferred
Associates or bachelor’s degree in HVAC, plumbing construction management, mechanical engineering or estimating is preferred
