H1N1 Prevention Plan
The fall and winter flu season is quickly approaching and it is a good time to take some additional preventative measures when trying to avert the flu.
With an increase in apprehension about the H1N1 virus, Isaac feels that it is very important to be as conscientious as ever in the prevention and treatment of the flu. We have begun implementing the following plan in hopes to help prevent a wide spread pandemic occurrence of the flu.
Stage 1 - Implement immediately with the onset of the flu season
- Train all personnel in proper hygiene relative to communicating the virus. This includes hand washing, covering sneezes and coughs, and most importantly, staying/going home if ill
- Constant reminder of above through the video communicator and posters throughout the building. AWARENESS!
- Stocking up on cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, and alcohol wipes
- Instituting a building cleaning protocol which will include disinfecting common surfaces as well as individual employees disinfecting their work stations daily to help prevent the spread of this virus
- Cross training within all of our departments in preparation for a high absenteeism rate so that we will be able to respond to our customer's needs as we always have
- Identify any "at risk" employees, being aware of privacy and HIPPA issues
- Identify those employees who could work from home
- Communicating our plan to all of our clients, assuring them that we will take every precaution to protect our employees as well as our clients
- Communicate our plan to vendors to ensure they take this threat seriously so as to not disrupt our supply chain
- Encourage all of our technicians who are out in homes and businesses to use extra caution in contacts, as well as disinfecting tools, bags, clipboards, pens, etc. that come in contact with other people
Stage 2 - Implement should absenteeism spike or if advised by a Public Health Advisory
- Monitor employee health at the beginning of each day and sending home infected employees
- Institute a "social distancing" policy that will keep 6' separation between individuals while working, encouraging minimal physical contact, canceling all unnecessary travel, and wearing masks as appropriate
